Crow has been gathering and storing magic that the people have thrown away, not knowing or recognizing what they were doing. Crow has been keeping the magic jar hidden and safe until the time is right to release the magic again.
Fox knows that Crow is keeping the magic. Fox tries to convince Crow that we all need the magic right now.

“We can’t wait any longer. Not all people are ready, but, lots of them are, and if you release the magic back into the world they will see it and be encouraged.”
